Re: Comentarios GP de Hungría 2025
For this round I was on holiday, so I had more time to practice and everything went way better. I really missed winning and having a clean race with zero issues.
During the week, every time I jumped on the server, the car felt strong, but I knew I was lapping around the same times as Pakesepa so I expected a tough battle especially in qualifying.
I already had a decent setup, but yesterday afternoon when Kostas sent the new version, I felt confident straight away as soon as I got to sector 2. I just trimmed a bit of rear wing to suit my style, and the car was spot on.
In practice with a wet track, I struggled a bit but still had good pace. In Q2 I got blocked by Tortu on my only flying lap, so I thought I’d lost the chance but it was still good enough for P3. With the track conditions as they were I knew nobody would be improving after that.
At the start, I jumped straight into P1, but I had the feeling the inters wouldn’t last long. Pakesepa pitted one lap earlier, so I pushed hard and managed to gain a bit more time. From there, it was about managing the gap until the final stint, when I noticed I had to save some fuel. Luckily, the gap was enough to lift and coast to the end and still take the win.
Moved up to P7 in the championship now. With things finally feeling “normal” again, I’ll be pushing to fight for P3.
Congrats to the podium in such a tricky race. It’s a shame Kostas and Emil had issues otherwise we could’ve had a great team result.
Now time for a well-deserved break before heading to Zandvoort.
