Re: Comentarios GP USA 2026
It was a very difficult race, heavily compromised by the penalty I received following my mistake in Singapore, which forced me to start from P9.
In qualifying, I managed to set the second-fastest time, just 0.002s away from pole position. I was the fastest in both the first and second sectors, but I pushed too hard early in the lap and couldn't put together a good final sector. I definitely felt there was more time available.
In the race, I managed to recover positions quite quickly, but I lost around 7.6 seconds in the opening laps, which ultimately proved costly.
From that point onwards, the race became mainly a battle with the tyres. The hard compound had very little grip and lacked pace, the mediums suffered from excessive wear and didn't allow me to push as much as I wanted, and the softs were practically impossible to manage. I tried to adapt and extract the maximum from each stint, but I never really had the conditions to attack properly.
Despite everything, we managed to finish P2. The data shows that our average race pace was extremely competitive, but the penalty and the time lost at the beginning made the difference. I gave everything I had, but there wasn't much more I could do.
Congratulations to Javi on an excellent race and a well-deserved victory!
I also want to thank my teammates at Lusitanium Sim Racers / Storm Racing for all their help, support and hard work throughout the preparation and the race.
There are now just three races remaining in the championship. We're 32 points behind the leader, and we know that closing that gap will be extremely difficult. Even winning all three remaining races won't be enough on its own — we'll also need some results to go our way.
But as long as there's still a mathematical chance, we'll keep fighting.
The goal is simple: try to win the final three races and finish the championship as strongly as possible.
